In this episode of HOT ROD Garage, presented by Lincoln Tech… HEMI! That’s all you really need to know — but to elaborate, episode 47 of HRG brings project Fishtail ‘Cuda, Tony Angelo’s drift-muscle 1972 Plymouth ‘Cuda, half-way home with the install of the Mopar Performance 392 Crate Hemi and Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed manual.
After the original transmission tunnel was chopped out, and the frame trimmed and hemmed for the new driveline, Tony and Lucky used QA1’s tubular K-member to support the 392. The new K-member would also serve as a foundation for the custom front control arms built in episode 46. From there, Tony and Lucky wired up the crate engine’s Mopar ECU, and managed to wind up Fishtail for a little bit of fire and fury.
Tony also uses the occasion to talk about where the Hemi got its iconic name in this episode’s Lincoln Tech tech tip.
