Nothing quite beats the drama of a good short track race. The emotion of a grueling 400 laps at Winchester spilled into Victory Lane Sunday afternoon after Travis Braden snatched the win from Eddie Van Meter on the final lap.

Four cars remained in contention after leaders Raphael Lessard and Stephen Nasse tangled during the final circuits. Their misfortune set the table for Van Meter, Braden, Dalton Sargeant, and Dalton Armstrong to settle the score with five laps remaining. Van Meter seized control on the final restart with Braden swooping to the bottom using a three-wide pass to take Second.

Braden closed the gap over the next set of laps and was on Van Meter’s bumper at the white flag. He then made a swift move to dive to the inside line and muscle the lead away from Van Meter. Sargeant was Third, Armstrong was Fourth, and – although four laps down – Cody Coughlin rounded out the Top Five and claimed the CRA season Championship.

Displeased with Braden, Van Meter “interrupted” the post-race celebration, which then took an eventful turn. The video tells the tale… (Warning, there is some explicit language).
