Day 2 has come and gone on the LMC Truck C10 Nationals Week to Wicked Presented by Classic Trucks, and despite the 1985 Chevy short-wide still being up in the air not looking much different than she did the previous day’s end, there was quite a bit of progress made toward getting ‘er done.
As is now customary with the CT Week to Wicked builds, Classic Performance Products goes above and beyond a sponsor’s call of duty by sending over some extra hands to assist with (typically that translates into: handling completely!) the installation of all the CPP components being used. Today, the CPP assist team got the front and rear Big Brake discs installed (including all the plumbing) as well as the initial install/setup of their HydraStop unit, which will get wrapped up once the engine is in place and ready to be plumbed for power steering.
And speaking of the engine, our Connect & Cruise LS396 from Gandrud Chevrolet was readied to be dropped in place by Christian with the LS Install kit supplied by Holley Performance. That included the necessary space-saving oil pan, front serpentine accessory system, and engine mount plates that will use a pair of Energy Suspension poly mounts. Meanwhile, Jason retrofit the LMC stock-replacement fuel tank with an Earl’s Performance in-tank pump fuel-injection kit, also from Holley. As they were were taking care of all that, the mail man dropped off a fresh 4L75E four-speed automatic built exclusively for our Week to Wicked C10 by Gearstar Transmission. Later tonight the two drivetrain components will be mated in preparation for installation as we start all over again tomorrow for Day 3.
