The Hot Shoe 100 has quickly become one of the biggest open-wheel Modified races in the Midwestern United States. This premiere event came to fruition for the Gray Family for the first time in August of 2014 at their host venue, the Whittemore Speedway (Whittemore, MI).
The concept was simple. Provide an unforgettable weekend of racing while raising funds for Michigan-based charities, primarily the Northern Michigan Cancer Crusaders.
This year the event celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2017, and has attracted 48 or more Modifieds each of the past three seasons. It has also seen strong support from support divisions, fans, pit crews, and donors
The winners of the 2017 event were: Brian Nester (Modifieds), Todd Jackson (Street Stocks), Keith McBee (B Division Stock Cars), Dave Christensen (ABC Stock Cars), and Trent Fenner (FWD).
