Anyone in racing knows that the real secret to success is data. Sure, a whole ‘lotta horsepower helps; but if you can’t figure out why you’re not finding all of that horsepower or are struggling with setup, then it doesn’t matter if you even strap a nitro Hemi to the frame rails — you’re not going anywhere fast!
SRT knows this, as you’ll be flipping through the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon’s Performance Pages quicker than the gospel to find engine oil pressure and temperature, coolant temperature, transmission fluid temperature, intake air temperature, air-fuel ratio, intercooler coolant temperature, boost pressure and battery voltage; along with various performance readouts like 0-60 mph, 0-100 mph, eighth-mile, quarter-mile, and other timers. Better yet, the “home” tab is customizable, putting what gauges you need into clear view.
Combined with the Direct Connection Performance Parts box, you can track and log the Demon’s real-time performance numbers as you make changes to the setup. Another big feature is the Demon’s After-Run Chiller, an industry-first system that keeps the liquid-to-air intercooler pump and fan running after the engine has shut down until a target temp is reached, saving racers a few bucks in ice bags to combat mid-round heat soak. On top of that, the After-Run Chiller also runs you through a routine to maximize its efficiency.
Of course, some of the Performance Pages are there to help you get off the line thanks to the Demon’s line-lock for the burnout box and RPM-adjustable launch control for the beams. Once you’re charging for what could be a 10-second quarter (if the screencapped easter eggs are to be believed, conspiracy theorists), a per-gear adjustable shift light gives the driver control over their plan of attack.
