Inside any of the dozen-plus buildings housing everything from the cars vying for the remaining two big custom awards (The Baggy & Barris having already been bestowed upon Bruce Wanta’s 1936 Packard, while the Bertolucci Award went to the McAuliffe’s East Bay Speed & Custom built, gorgeous 1940 DeLuxe Fordor) to the newly created Lowrider Showcase club displays, there was anything but talk of the weather. Saturday’s featured attractions included Candy Clark and the original 1958 Impala in which see appeared as Debbie Dunham with in American Graffiti, right alongside ex Hendrick Motorsports crew chief and current Americana host Ray Evernham; live music throughout the day; a Pinstriper’s charity auction; and the Suede Pavilion awards followed by the Pin-Up Contest that closed out the day.
