Wrenchin’ Wednesday: Anti-Gravity Bolts With Axle Grease

Today’s Wrenchin’ Wednesday is a simple one, but we’ve all faught that one burried bolt. You know the one, hiding where no mortal hand could fit, often in an orientation that does not make you friends with gravity after the umpteenth time a bolt drops dangerously close to one of those black holes in the chassis. Grab that tub of axle grease, or a similar sticky grease, and save yourself a mass of frustration and time. If the mess bothers you, the fastener can be easily cleaned with a shot of brake clean. This trick can work with screws, Torx, and Allen head fasteners too.
